The scheme is on the pattern of Old Age Allowance Scheme for the families having only girl child/children started from 1st January 2006. Initially Rs. 300 per month per family was given. The enrolment of families under this scheme commences from the 45th birthday of the mother and the father i.e. for 15 years. In case of the death of either of the parents, the surviving partner will get this. The Government has enhanced the rate of allowance from 300/- p.m. to 500/- p.m. and reduced the eligibility age from 55 yrs to 45 yrs w.e.f. 1.4.2007, to Rs. 1000/- per month w.e.f. 01.04.2014, to Rs. 1200/- P.M. w.e.f. 01-01-2015. The Government has increased the rates under the scheme to Rs, 1,400/- P.M per beneficiary w.e.f 1-1-2016 , Rs. 1600/- w.e.f. 01-11-2016 and Rs. 1800/- w.e.f. 01-11-2017.

• Eligibility Criteria:
  i)Any family where biological single parent/parents are domicile of Haryana or working for Government of Haryana and having no son, biological or adopted, but only daughter/daughters are eligible to get benefit.
  ii) The gross annual income from all sources of the family must not exceed Rs. 2,00,000/- to be eligible for getting benefit under this scheme.
  iii) iv) The eligible family will be entitled to receive benefit under scheme for a period of 15 years from the date either of the two parents completes 45 years of age. The benefit will be paid to the mother, if surviving. In case the mother is not surviving, the benefit will be paid to the father,”
